THE CONTAINER SERIES

My Containers series started during the Covid Spring of 2020.

A shape that had been haunting me, a familiar dark cloud crossed with wavy blue black hair, finally attached itself to a vase, allowing me to explore other shapes and colors.

Keeping things simple seemed a good idea for right now, & painting became an appealing & immediate way to work.  Travels were halted, adventures would need to come in another way.

Containers, remembered and imagined came into focus while thoughts sharp and hazy, flights of fancy, dreams of justice and revenge, attempts at retrieving memories occupied my brain, each in their turn.  These containers of my memory were burnished with fuzzy dream puffs, invading thought bubbles and obsessions of the moment.

Spring came with blossoms that enchanted and fixated my attention while fading.  Solitude continued but was mitigated by nature’s insistent cycles.  Endless cups of tea were drunk.

And still, it continues.

Around the corner, more visions await.
